In a disappointing 121-94 preseason defeat to the Dallas Mavericks, Gabe Vincent stood out as a bright light for the Lakers, making an electric start with hot shooting from beyond the arc.
He nailed four straight three-pointers early on, drawing praise from the crowd as he continued to fire threes. On his fifth attempt, Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg tried to contest, but Vincent still knocked it down.

Vincent finished the night with 22 points, shooting 6-of-15 overall and an impressive 6-of-11 from three-point range. He was fouled attempting a sixth three, went to the line, and sank all three free throws almost instantly, turning that stretch into a memorable scoring burst.
Reflecting on his performance, Vincent said, “I just wanted to come out aggressive. Obviously, we were a few guys down. We knew we needed to play a little fast, and I just wanted to come out and be aggressive and look for my shot. The guys found me early. They went in. That’s always helpful.”
Despite Vincent’s spark, the Mavericks took over late. That said, his display gives Lakers fans something to cheer about and hope for once the regular season begins.
