At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, the home side, Enugu Rangers, edged out Remo Stars with a 2-1 victory. Rangers took the lead in the 25th minute through a well-placed header by Isaac Saviour.
Kingsley Maduforo doubled the lead for the hosts just after halftime with Remo Stars scoring a consolation goal through Sikiru Alimi in the 89th minute.
In Owerri, Heartland hosted Shooting Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium. The breakthrough arrived in the 31st minute through Chukwuma Agor.
