NPFL: Pillars, Bendel, Kwara United record important home wins

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) continued its 2024/2025 season with several pivotal matches on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Teams across the country competed, aiming to improve their standings as the season progresses.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars clinched a dramatic 2-1 win against El-Kanemi Warriors. The home side took the lead through a penalty converted by veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali in the 62nd minute.

El-Kanemi Warriors quickly equalized, also from the penalty spot, but Kano Pillars found the decisive goal in the final moments of the match through Rahid Alhassan, securing all three points.

In a closely contested match, Bendel Insurance secured a 1-0 victory over Enyimba at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. The decisive moment came in the 55th minute when Kayode Oke found the back of the net, breaking the deadlock after a goalless first half.

In Ilorin, Kwara United secured a 2-0 victory over Shooting Stars. The home side took the lead in the 22nd minute through Kabiru Muhammed. Abdullah Ogifini doubled the advantage in the 57th minute, sealing the win for Kwara United.

As of the latest standings, Remo Stars lead the table with 48 points from 23 matches, closely followed by Shooting Stars with 40 points from 23 matches. Kano Pillars’ recent victory has bolstered their position, bringing them to 32 points from 23 matches. In the race for the golden boot, Anas Yusuf of Nasarawa United tops the scoring charts with 13 goals.
