Rivers United reclaimed top spot on the NPFL standings as closest rival, Remo Stars were defeated away to Niger Tornadoes as seven matches went down to conclude matchday 15 of the NPFL.

A first half goal scored by Aniekeme Okon was enough to separate Rivers United and Kano Pillars at Port Harcourt as Ahmed Musa and Rabiu Ali were kept quiet by the hosts.

Remo Stars, however, were unable to find answers to two first half goals scored by Niger Tornadoes with their only consolation goal coming in the dying minutes of the match as they fell to a 2-1 defeat in Minna.

Ikorodu United recorded the biggest win of the evening as they thrashed Akwa United 4-1 in a dominant performance at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

El Kanemi Warriors and Bayelsa United played out a goalless draw at Maiduguri while Shooting Stars took all three points against Abia Warriors in Ibadan courtesy of first-half goals from Anthony Okachi and Joshua Akpan.

Katsina United recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars of Akure while a close contest between Heartland and Nasarawa United ended in a 3-2 victory in favour of Heartland in Owerri.
