Super Eagles and Paris Saint-Germain legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha expressed his joy following PSG’s emphatic UEFA Champions League final victory over Inter Milan.
The legendary playmaker was present at the Allianz Arena on the night PSG clinched their maiden Champions League trophy with a stunning 5-0 triumph.
The French giants dismantled the Italian side thanks to two goals from Desire Doue, alongside strikes from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu.

In a post-match chat with TNT Sports, Okocha reflected on the historic achievement and praised the team’s overall display as they completed a remarkable treble-winning season.
“It’s amazing, and the way they did it, they made it look so easy. They came with a good game plan, it worked out for them, and they totally deserved it.
“I didn’t think it would be 5-nil, I predicted 2-1, but who cares? I wanted to see them win, and they won. It’s great for the club, the first time in their history, and I think it’s good for football as well,” the former Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder said.
When Rio Ferdinand brought up Okocha’s renowned flair and asked if individual brilliance played a role in the victory, the Nigerian icon agreed.
“The skills were the difference, they used their individual talent for the team. They held the ball very well, and they made Inter suffer a bit. I think it’s down to their ability to do something with the ball.”

Owen Hargreaves also chimed in, questioning if Okocha could keep up with the intense pressing of PSG’s front three. Okocha responded enthusiastically:
“If I were to play in this front three, I’d have no choice but to press like that. When you’re around great players, they make you look good.
“The pressing was incredible, but the hard work is in the mind. If everything is working out well, you don’t mind going an extra mile for the team, and that’s what they did.”
Steven Gerrard turned the focus to PSG head coach Luis Enrique, and Okocha had high praise for the Spaniard’s approach to management.
“I think he made us realise football is a team game. No matter how good you are, if you’re not playing for the team, you can’t win anything, and they just justified that.”
With this landmark win, PSG not only lifted their first-ever Champions League title but also completed a treble, capping off an unforgettable season for the French club.
