Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo believes the team is just a win away from turning around their recent misfortunes on the pitch.
The 29-year-old midfielder admitted it has been a challenging start to the season, with just two wins across all competitions.
However, Mainoo said the team must move beyond the poor run of form and look forward to getting better results.
Mainoo, who returned to action after a brief layoff in the 2 nil loss to Chelsea on Saturday, spoke to the media alongside Michael Carrick ahead of Roma’s visit in the Champions League on Tuesday.
“It feels like we’re ONE win away from changing the situation. It’s been a tough season; we haven’t got the results we wanted, but we need to look forward now”.
Mainoo also spoke about the value of the club and what it stands for over the years. He believes the club is on the right path through the quality of talent from the academy.
“Man United is a huge club, people know the values that this club holds that have been passed down through the people who have worked here and who have played here”.
“I feel like I take some responsibility in that and in spreading the word what Manchester United is, coming up through the Academy”.
The armed Devils will take on Roma on matchday 3 of the Champions League on Tuesday night with the hope of securing their third win of the season in all competitions.
Michael Carrick’s men go into the tie with back-to-back losses against Atletico Madrid and Como in the league phase of the competition.
Manchester United are going through the worst start to the season in their history in over 40 years under Michael Carrick.
The Red Devils have managed just seven points from their opening eight matches, their worst tally since the 1986-1987 season.
Manchester United have lost seven of their 13 matches this season following the loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
A win over AS Roma on Tuesday could ease the tension on the team as history favours the Red Devils over the Serie A side with six victories from their nine meetings in Europe.
However, AS Roma are currently on a good run in Serie A with four wins from their last five matches, and the Giallorossi would fancy their chances against a Man United team desperate for three points; however, it comes.
