Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu says Trabzonspor must improve after scoring his ninth goal of the season in a dramatic Turkish Super League win over Basaksehir FK.

Paul Onuachu bagged his ninth goal of the season from the penalty spot after a VAR decision in a thrilling encounter at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium on Monday night.

Onuachu buried the ball into the bottom right corner to draw Trabzonspor level in the 76th minute after Eldor Shomurodov put the host ahead despite being a man down from the 10th minute.

Bertuğ Yıldırım thought he had snatched a point for Basaksehir in the first minute of added time, but substitute Ernest Muçi bagged his second goal of the night in the eleventh minute of added time to seal a 4-3 win over the host.

While speaking to the press, Onuach says he is happy with the win, but Trabzonspor must improve as they stay within the title race.

It’s always good to win. We are happy with the three points, but there’s more work to do,” Onuachu said to Spor Arena.

“I am just happy for the three points. They played well, even though they were a man down. At the end of the day, we fought back and got the three points.”

Onuachu is joint-top on the scorer’s chart in the Turkish Super League this season alongside Basaksehir’s Eldor Shomurodov with nine goals each.
