Asisat Oshoala has completed a move to Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, bringing her short spell at Bay FC to an end.
The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year signed a two-year contract after passing a medical in Riyadh, with Bay FC confirming the transfer on Tuesday.
Oshoala, 30, was one of the marquee names when Bay FC launched in the National Women’s Soccer League last year. She scored the club’s first-ever goal and finished the 2024 campaign with seven league strikes, plus another in the playoffs.

But her influence waned this season. Limited to just 12 appearances and five starts, she failed to find the net as Bay FC struggled at the foot of the table. Frustration over reduced playing time fuelled speculation of an exit, and Al Hilal have now secured her signature.
For the Saudi Women’s Premier League side, Oshoala’s arrival is a statement of intent. She will join fellow Nigerians Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega who currently are on the books of rivals, Al Ittihad.

Oshoala boasts a glittering résumé, including two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles with Barcelona and a record-extending six African Women’s Player of the Year awards.
Her move to Saudi Arabia marks another chapter in a career that has taken her from Liverpool and Arsenal to China, Barcelona, the United States, and now Riyadh.
