Victor Osimhen has risen to become the second-highest goal scorer in the history of the Super Eagles drawing him level with Segun Odegbami on 23 goals.

The Galatasaray striker achieved this feat with his latest goal in the 1-1 draw against Benin Republic in Abidjan.

The 25-year-old headed home a cross by Moses Simon in the 81st minute to draw Nigeria level after Benin took the lead early in the first half.

With his goal-scoring momentum, Osimhen is now within striking distance of the record held by Yekini, who scored 37 goals for Nigeria. He will aim to add to his tally in the next match against Rwanda.
