Chelsea forward, Cole Palmer has heaped praise on Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal, describing the 17-year-old as “probably the best player in the world” in a recent interview with Sky Sports.
Palmer’s remarks followed Barcelona’s recent match against Inter Milan, where Yamal’s standout performance continued to draw admiration across the football world.
Speaking candidly, the England international expressed his amazement at the teenager’s composure, influence, and flair on the pitch.
“He’s mad,” Palmer said. “He’s probably the best player in the world, to be honest.”

When asked what specifically impresses him about Yamal’s game, Palmer highlighted the winger’s all-around impact.
“Just everything,” he continued. “It feels like everything they [Barcelona] do goes through him. When you watch him, it’s just mad.”

The Chelsea star also reflected on Yamal’s unique ability to glide past defenders with ease—something Palmer admitted he wouldn’t even attempt himself.
“I don’t know,” he laughed. “I’ve never tried it.”
Palmer concluded by acknowledging Yamal’s mentality and fearless approach, especially given his young age.
“He’s got confidence and no fear. I love watching him,” he added.
Yamal’s rapid rise has captured the attention of football fans and professionals alike, and Palmer’s comments further underscore the young winger’s growing reputation as one of the brightest talents in the game today.
