Barcelona midfielder Pedri has delivered a stinging critique of the team’s performance following their shocking 4-1 La Liga defeat to a resurgent Sevilla side on Sunday.
The loss, which occurred after the midweek Champions League defeat to PSG, saw Hansi Flick’s side humiliated at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.

Speaking immediately after the match, Pedri admitted the Catalans were severely lacking in multiple areas, both tactically and in effort.
“We are lacking many things, honestly. With the ball, we didn’t know how to break their man-to-man pressure. We also lacked intensity in defense,” Pedri said in his post-match interview.
The midfielder pulled no punches, calling for immediate self-reflection from the squad. “The team was bad in the first half. I think we have not played a match this poorly before. We need to be honest with ourselves.”
Following the defeat, Barcelona missed the chance to reclaim the top spot and now sit second in the La Liga table, two points behind leaders Real Madrid.
