Premier League side Newcastle United are set to join the chase for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.
Osimhen was heavily linked to Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Saudi clubs last summer but failed to secure a move, despite an action-packed deadline day.
Victor Osimhen to Newcastle?
According to a report from The Chronicle, Newcastle are interested in signing the 25-year-old striker in a club-record deal.
The report further states that Osimhen’s camp believe Newcastle, who previously scouted him in 2019, could be a viable option.
Meanwhile, Chelsea remain keen on the striker, despite Nicolas Jackson’s impressive form.
Galatasaray are also interested in signing Osimhen permanently, but the league leaders may struggle to convince him.
Osimhen has scored 8 goals in 9 games for Galatasaray this season.
