Premier League: Daniel Levy leaves Tottenham Hotspur after 24 years

Daniel Levy has stepped down as executive chairman of Tottenham Hotspur after nearly 25 years in the role.

The news, which has sent shockwaves through the football world, brings a close to a 24-year tenure defined by monumental off-field progress and a frustrating lack of major silverware.

Levy’s time at the helm was a study in contrasts. He masterminded the development of the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a world-class venue that cemented the club’s financial future.

He navigated Spurs from a mid-table side to a consistent presence in the Champions League. Yet, for many fans, this stability was overshadowed by the agonizing wait for a trophy, a core criticism that followed him throughout his reign.

“I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees,” said Levy, who had a reputation in football for being a shrewd operator and tough negotiator.

“We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level. More than that, we have built a community.

“I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.

“Finally, wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn’t always been an easy journey, but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.”
