Shocker! Bodo Glimt demolish Manchester City as Rodri sees red in Norwegian cold

Bodo Glimt were red hot on a cold night in Norway as the Norwegian champions put Manchester City to the sword in what will go down as one of the biggest upsets in the history of the competition.

Manchester City, perhaps still recovering from the derby day loss to Manchester United, struggled to contain the hosts on an artificial pitch and freezing conditions.

Twenty-five year-old Danish forward, Kasper Hogh, had a brilliant performance as he bagged a brace in the famous victory over Pep Guardiola’s men.

Kasper Hogh scored twice in two minutes to give Bodo Glimt a two-nil lead after twenty-four minutes of action.

Erling Haaland missed a glorious chance to reduce the deficit just before the break, but missed as Bodo Glimt took a comfortable 2-0 lead into the dugout.

The home side piled pressure on the visitors on the resumption of the second half and got a third just before the hour mark.

Jens Hauge weaves his way past a couple of opponents before unleashing a magnificent effort from the edge of the box into the top right corner. Gianluigi Donnarumma had no chance of reaching it.

French winger Ryan Cherki reduced the deficit on the hour mark as he buried the ball into the bottom corner from a brilliant play by Nico O’Reilly.

Kasper Hogh thought he had gotten his hat trick on the night, but the video assistant referee ruled out his goal for offside.

Bodo Glimt earned a well-deserved win over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as the tie ended 3-1, leaving the nine-time Premier League champions at risk of missing out on the automatic qualification zone for the second round.
