Veteran Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has made a promise to Nigeria football fans ahead of the second match at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Osinachi Ohale was in action for the entire duration of that match as the Super Falcons recorded a 3-0 win over the North Africans.
Ohale, while speaking to Ademola Victor, TV reflects on the win against Tunisia and what the team intends to achieve in the second match.
“The first game we played against Tunisia, we got the three points and three goals, and our first win,” Ohale told Ademola Victor TV.
“It was a good start for the team, the scorers, the goalkeeper, and the defenders to keep a clean sheet. It’s something every goalkeeper and defender looks forward to going into a tournament.”
“It was a good step for us and we want to keep those high standards and keep the record going forward and make sure we don’t concede goals.”
Ohale also underscored the significance of the Botswana match for both the team and Nigerian supporters.
“Tomorrow (On Thursday) is the second game against Botswana, We know how important the game is for us (the team) and for Nigerians.
“We are going to do our best to make sure we get the three points and the win to make them proud and put a smile on their faces.”
The veteran defender is expected to start in defense alongside Oluwatosin Demehin as the Super Falcons look to secure another win.
A win tonight will secure the Super Falcons’ quarter-finals ticket, while Botswana will hope to bounce back from the loss to Algeria in their opening match.
After a winning start against Tunisia, the nine-time champions will take on Botswana later today at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium.
