Super Falcons: Rasheedat Ajibade bags brace for Atletico Madrid

Captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Rasheedat Ajibade, scores twice as Atletico Madrid defeats Valencia 4-0.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Atletico Madrid defeated Valencia 4-0 in a 2024 Primera División of la Liga de Fútbol Femenino match.

The game’s hero was the captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Rasheedat Ajibade who finally opened her goal account in the league this season.

It was a close encounter but in the 30th minute, Gabi García scored the opener following a spectacular move by Rasheedat Ajibade on the wing.

Just 10 minutes later, Sheila Guijarro gave Atletico Madrid their second goal pouncing on a loose ball in the box from Garcia.

Just before halftime, Atletico Madrid demonstrated their superiority in the game by grabbing a third.

Boe Risa created a lovely opening play sending the ball to a dangerous area where Ajibade brought it and scored with a powerful shot.

To wrap up the less competitive second half, Atlético sealed the result thanks to a goal by Ajbade at the very end.

It was Atletico de Madrid Femenino’s third victory overall and their first away win of the current campaign.

Ajibade returns to action with Atletico Madrid when they take on Madrid CFF in a league derby on Friday, September 27, 2024.
