Sweden tear Germany apart as Denmark, Poland bow out of Women’s Euro with five goals rain

Sweden and Germany progressed into the last eight of the 2025 Women’s Euro after a thrilling five-goal affair.

What ought to be a keenly contested tie ended up being one sided as the Swedes tore their opponents aside on Saturday night in Zurich.

The tie between the Sweden – the inaugural champions and the eight-time winners stated with a goal rush in the opening quarter.

Jule Brand gave Germany the lead after seven minutes but the lasted five minutes as Arsenal midfielder Stints Blackstenius restored parity.

Smila Holmbrrg gave Sweden the lead in the 25th minute from s defected shot after a dashing run into the box.

Martyna Wiankowska restored Poland’s two-goal lead six minutes later with a brilliant strike courtesy of Natalia Padilla’s pass.

Danish Signe Brunne attempted another comeback as she scored seven times from time to make the scoreline 3-2 but Poland a famous win over Denmark as both teams return home.
