Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare wrote an emotional farewell letter to Genk and the fans after completing his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Arokodare took to his X and Instagram pages to express his gratitude to the club and the fans for their support during his two-year stint at the club.
He added that the city of Genk will remain special as he takes up a new challenge in his career in arguably the biggest league in the World.
“After two years with this club and amazing fans, it’s time for me to take the next step in my career. I want to take this opportunity to thank every single teammate, coach and supporter who has been with me on this journey and helped me while I’ve been here. The city of Genk has been nothing but good to me and it will always be a place that I’ll treasure for the special times I’ve had with you all. I leave proud to have played for this badge and wish the club nothing but success in the future. Thank you for every moment in blue”
Tolu Arokodare joins Wolverhampton Wanderers in a €27 million move after his impressive outing with Genk last season in the Belgian Jupiler League last season.
The 24-year-old striker bagged 21 goals in 40 matches and emerged as the league top scorer. Arokodare also won the Ebony Shoe as the best African player in the league.
Meanwhile, Wolves announced the signing of the Super Eagles striker on its official X page on Monday afternoon after the he completed his medical over the weekend.
Tolu Arokodare will join the Super Eagles camp immediately after his unveiling in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
