The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have unveiled the best eleven players after the first round of matches at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, with two Super Falcons players in the list.
Super Falcons’ defender Ashleigh Plumptre and forward Rasheedat Ajibade made it to the list for their impressive performances in the group stage.
Ashleigh Plumptre was rock-solid in defense, ensuring the Super Falcons finished the group stage without conceding a goal.
Ajibade featured in all the group stage matches without a goal or assist, but remained a goal threat for the Super Falcons.
Despite having two assists each, Super Falcons’ Omorinsola Babajide and Esther Okoronkwo didn’t make it to the list.
Zambia and South Africa have the highest number of players in the selected eleven, with three players each.
The tournament’s current highest goalscorer, Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak, made it to the list as expected.
CAF also selected Algeria’s goalkeeper Chloe N’Gazi and Senegalese forward Nguenar N’Diaye as part of the team for the group stage.
