Fulham star, Alex Iwobi, is confident the Super Eagles will earn a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Eric Chelle’s side managed to secure a place in the playoffs after a poor start to their qualifying campaign. However, a late run of results, including the 4-0 win over Benin in the final game, helped them finish second in Group C behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

The Super Eagles will face the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final of the playoffs on Thursday, 13 November in Rabat, Morocco.
Iwobi said they will do their best to secure a place at the World Cup.
“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told CNN.

“We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world,” he added.
“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen). It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we’re very confident. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
