Ademola Lookman scored his 20th goal of the season in Atalanta’s win over Roma on Monday night. The Super Eagles forward ended his eight-game drought in the 4-0 win at Lecce and found the back of the net yesterday.
Lookman gave the home side the lead in the ninth minute as he beat his marker and the keeper with a dummy move in the box before placing the ball into the bottom right corner.
The 27-year-old forward was on until the 88th minute before Italian midfielder Marco Brescianini replaced him after an impressive outing.
Atalanta secured a 2-1 win as Lookman bagged the ‘Man of the Match” award.
Lookman’s goal on Monday night is his 15th in the league this season, having scored five goals en route to Atalanta’s Champions League exit.
The Super Eagles forward is Atalanta’s second top scorer this season, behind Italian forward Mateo Retegui.
Retegui is enjoying an amazing season with 27 goals and eight assists in 46 matches across all competitions.
With two matches left in the Serie A, Lookman and Retegui will look to add to their numbers as La Dea travel to Genoa before hosting Parma on the final day of the season at home.
Atalanta have secured qualification for next season’s Champions League, and they currently occupy the third spot on the log with 71 points.
