AC Milan secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Monday bolstering their aspirations for European qualification as the Serie A season approaches its conclusion.
The match began with Genoa taking the lead in the 61st minute through Vitinha, who capitalized on a precise assist from Aaron Martin.
However, Milan responded decisively. Rafael Leão, introduced as a substitute due to an injury to Fofana, made an immediate impact by equalizing in the 76th minute after receiving a pass from Giménez.
Shortly thereafter, Leão was instrumental in creating the opportunity that led to an own goal by Genoa’s Morten Frendrup, sealing the comeback for the Rossoneri.
This victory marks Milan’s second consecutive win and their third in the last four matches. Despite this positive run, they remain in ninth place, six points adrift of the European qualification spots, with only three matches left in the season.
