Ahmed Musa scores late winner as Kano Pillars edge Niger Tornadoes

Ahmed Musa has continued to show his importance to Kano Pillars since his return to his boyhood club for his third stint.

The former Super Eagles captain added to his tally of goals for the Sai Masu Gida on Saturday as he scores a late winner over Niger Tornadoes.

Ahmed Musa marked his return to action with a goal after missing the last two matches due to illness.

The Sani Abacha Stadium was packed to the rafters on Saturday evening as the former champions hosted their North Central neighbors.

Ghanian midfielder Rashid Alhassan gave the home side the lead on the half hour mark off Naziru Salisu’s assist from a precise free kick.

The first half ended with the home side in a slim but quite comfortable lead.

However, the visitors got into the game on the hour mark Mohammed Aliyu buried his chance into the back of the net.

Kano Pillars toiled hard to get back into the lead but the visitors defended deep to keep the scoreline in their favour.

However, Ahmed Musa dashed the hope of the visitors as he scored in the third minute of added time to secure the winner for Kano Pillars.

The Super Eagles legend has now scored 6 goals in 11 matches for Kano Pillars as they climb to 7th on the NPFL table.

In other matches played on Saturday, Bendel Insurance scored a late winner as well to secire three points over Lobi Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Sunshine Stars ended their five-game winless run with a 1-0 home win over El Kanemi Warriors.
