English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur, have sacked Thomas Frank as the head coach of its men’s first team. The decision comes after the 2-1 home loss to Newcastle United on Tuesday night and last week’s defeat to Manchester United.
Tottenham announced the development in a statement via its social media handle on Wednesday morning.
the Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today. Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together. However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary. Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.
Tottenham Hotspur announced Thomas Frank as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou, who led the club to their first-ever European title with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final.
The appointment of Thomas Frank comes after his impressive work at Brentford over the years, helping the Bees gain promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
However, his stint at North London came to an end after eight months, bedeviled by a poor run of results in the league, injuries to key players, and the danger of staying within the fringes of relegation like last season.
Tottenham Hotspur are without a win in eight matches in the league matches, with their last victory away at Crystal Palace in December.
