The second round of matches in the CAF Champions League took place on Saturday across Africa, as the continent’s best continue their hunt for the prestigious trophy.
The biggest game of the day featured South African giants Orlando Pirates and Egypt’s Al Ahly at the packed Orlando Stadium.
Orlando Pirates made a strong start to their match against Al Ahly, with Monnapule Saleng’s lively performance causing trouble for the visitors’ defense. Saleng came close to scoring in the 42nd minute, but his shot narrowly missed the target.
Pirates had another chance to win the game in stoppage time, but Thabiso Sesane’s header sailed just wide. The 0-0 draw leaves both teams level on four points, with Pirates in second place due to a superior goal difference.
