Super Eagles captain Williams Troost-Ekong and the “Innit Boys” – British players of Nigerian descent have arrived camp in Kigali ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

Troost-Ekong, Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina, Fulham duo Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman, Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo, and Valencia striker Sadiq Umar arrived in Kigali in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Joe Aribo returns to the team for the first time since the Africa Cup of Nations final where the Super Eagles lost to host Cote D’Ivoire in February 2024.

Sadiq Umar also returns to the squad after a brilliant run of form in recent matches. The 28-year-old striker has scored four goals in his last five matches since he joined Valencia on loan from Real Sociedad in the January transfer window.

Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Remo Stars’ goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle and his coaching crew arrived on Sunday night.

The number of players in camp has risen to 22 with only Al Hassan Yusuf still expected.
