Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of German winger Florian Wirtz.
After weeks of back and forth between, the two clubs, a verbal agreement has been reached as Wirtz looks set to start a new adventure at Merseyside.
Liverpool’s initial bid of over €100 million was rejected as Bayer Leverkusen claimed the bid was far from the valuation of the 21-year-old.
A second proposal of €130 million brought the former German Bundesliga champions to the table as discussions started to transfer the player at the end of May.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, reports that the deal is worth €150 million including add-ons.
Florian Wirtz will travel to Liverpool in the days ahead for his medical and signing of his contact after agreeing personal terms two weeks ago.
Wirtz had a remarkable 2023/2024 season as he helped Bayer Leverkusen their first Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal.
The winger scored 18 goals and registered 20 assists en route to Bayer Leverkusen’s double.
In the just-concluded season, despite losing out on the continental and domestic titles, Wirtz had 31 goal contributions as he helped Leverkusen secure a Champions League spot.
Florian Wirtz is Arne Slot’s second summer signing after the arrival of Wirtz’s compatriot at Leverkusen Jeremie Frimpong.
