Former Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has emerged as a strong contender to replace Nuri Sahin as Borussia Dortmund manager.
The 54-year-old left the Red Devils last October and is eager to return to the dug-out.
Ten Hag is waiting in the wings at Dortmund, having been a ‘frequent guest’ of the Bundesliga club since he was sacked as Man United manager.
Sky Germany reports that Ten Hag was shown around the ‘business area’ and discussed with Dortmund technical director Sven Mislintat.
The former Ajax manager enjoys a good relationship with Dortmund chief advisor Matthias Sammer who brought him to Bayern Munich almost a decade ago.
The Dutchman was even present for last week’s clash with Bayer Leverkusen, which Dortmund lost 3-2.
However, the Bundesliga giants have not publicly declared their intention to hire Ten Hag, but things could change quickly if Nuri Sahin continues to preside over this downward slide.
Dortmund have won just one of their last five Bundesliga matches and are currently in ninth position with 25 points after 17 matches.
