Hull City’s boss Sergej Jakirović has revealed that Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi will continue to get game time as the club prepares for his absence ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Arsenal Academy product has been involved in recent games for the Tigers and was in action in the 2-0 loss to Ipswich Town.
Jakirović, while speaking to the media, says Semi Ajayi’s recent involvement is tied to the club’s attempt to manage its personnel in defense and prepare for his imminent departure for the Africa Cup of Nations.

“Semi will play even more now,” the Croatian manager said. “He will play more because he is going to the Africa Cup of Nations on December 10.”
Semi Ajayi is expected to be part of Eric Chelle’s team for the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
Nigeria will look to compensate for missing out on consecutive World Cup tournaments by at least reaching the final of the tournament, like they did last time under ex-manager Jose Peseiro
