Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has stated he doesn’t want to injure his Spain teammate, Lamine Yamal, when both players face off in the UEFA Champions League this November.
The two will be on opposite sides of the pitch when Chelsea hosts Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on November 25.

Speaking after Spain’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win against Bulgaria, Cucurella acknowledged the friendly rivalry and the importance of keeping his fellow countryman healthy for national team duties.
“I’m ready to face Lamine Yamal at club level. He already told me some stuff, but I can’t injure him because I need him for the national team. It will be difficult for them [Barcelona], we will be at home, but we will see.”
Yamal has gone from talented teenager to one of the world’s best footballers in just 2 years, and after narrowly missing out on Champions League success last season, he will be eager to lead Barcelona to glory this season.
