Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta bolstered their UEFA Champions League hopes with a 1-0 win at AC Milan, completing their first Serie A double over the Rossoneri since 2007/08.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, battling to hold their top-four spot after a shaky March and April, dominated early in a cautious first half. Éderson headed wide from Raoul Bellanova’s cross, and Mateo Retegui missed after Mario Pašalić’s pass.
Milan’s best chance came when Luka Jović turned brilliantly on Álex Jiménez’s pass but fired wide.
After the break, Milan started strongly with chances for Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana, but Rafael Leão shot wide.

Against the run of play, Atalanta struck in style: Bellanova headed Ademola Lookman’s cross for Éderson to score with a diving header. Lookman nearly doubled the lead, denied by Mike Maignan’s save in a late one-on-one.
The defeat, Milan’s fifth in six home games (W1, D3, L2), left them ninth, with the Coppa Italia their only European hope. Atalanta, losing just once in their last 14 away league games (W10, D3), solidified third place.
