The Flamingos of Nigeria have been placed in Group D for the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, set to take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8.
This edition marks a historic milestone as the tournament expands to 24 teams and is hosted in Africa for the first time.
The draw was conducted by Moroccan international Doha El Madani and former national team player Fatiha Laassiri, with guidance from Jaime Yarza, FIFA’s Director of Tournaments, and Sarai Bareman, FIFA’s Chief Women’s Football Officer.

Making their return to the global stage with high hopes, Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside Canada, France, and debutants Samoa.
Nigeria’s Group D challenge is part of a thrilling overall draw that promises intense competition across six groups:
Group A: Morocco, Brazil, Italy, Costa Rica
Group B: Korea DPR (defending champions), Mexico, Cameroon, Netherlands
Group C: USA, Ecuador, China PR, Norway
Group D: Nigeria, Canada, France, Samoa
Group E: Spain, Colombia, Korea Republic, Côte d’Ivoire
Group F: Japan, New Zealand, Zambia, Paraguay.
With the Flamingos looking to build on their impressive third-place finish in 2022, fans across Nigeria will be eagerly watching as the team prepares to take on some of the world’s best youth sides in Morocco.
