In a thrilling finale at Stade de l’Épopée in Calais on Saturday evening, Paris FC clinched their first major trophy in 19 years by defeating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 5–4 on penalties after a goalless draw in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final.
Central to this historic triumph was Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, whose exceptional performance included two crucial penalty saves during the shootout.
Her efforts not only secured the victory but also underscored her reputation as one of Europe’s premier goalkeepers.
Throughout the match, both teams created opportunities, but neither could break the deadlock in regular time. The match proceeded directly to penalties, where Nnadozie’s saves against PSG’s Korbin Albert and Jade Le Guilly proved decisive, handing Paris FC the coveted trophy.
This victory adds to Nnadozie’s impressive list of accolades. In the 2023–24 season, she was named the Best Goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema league, becoming the first African to receive the honor.
Her season was marked by an outstanding record of seven penalty saves, the highest in Europe, and twelve clean sheets in 28 appearances.
As the team celebrates this landmark victory, Nnadozie’s contributions will be remembered as instrumental in ending the club’s 19-year trophy drought.
