Southampton v Brentford

Super Eagles duo, Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu were both in action for Southampton as the Saints got “stained” by Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Even though Southampton have a new manager but it appears the fortune of the club still remain the same as they suffered another loss.

The Saints suffered their 15th Premier League loss of the season as they got swept aside 5-0 at home to Brentford.

Onuachu amd Aribo both started the match and did their best on a tough afternoon.

Unfortunately it wasn’t enough against a ruthless Thomas Frank’s side.

The match was quite a one-sided affair as the visitors made the St. Mary’s their home turf in a glaring dominant display.

Kevin Shade gave the visitors the lead on the 6th minute after he was left one-on-one with Ramsdale.

The German midfielder buried the ball into the bottom-right corner to make it 1-0.

The first half ended 1-0 in favour of the Brentford as Southampton struggled to make meaningful impact.

Southampton were completely blown apart in the second half with Brentford’ leaving no chance of redemption from the home side.

Bryan Mbuemo bagged a brace and provided an assist in the 5-0 rout of the Saints.

The Camerounian forward now has 17 G/A in the last 23 Premier League games with Brentford.

Yaone Wissa and Lewis-Pottee also got on the scoresheet as Brentford ended five-game winless streak in sublime fashion.

Southampton remain rock-bottom of the league with just six points after 20 games.
