Galatasaray is currently navigating a tricky situation, balancing loyalty to veteran striker Mauro Icardi with the sensational, goal-scoring form of their new talisman, Victor Osimhen.
The Argentine’s contract uncertainty lingers, as the Turkish giants appear in no rush to renew his deal.
Icardi’s camp is pushing for clarity, but the club’s leadership has publicly maintained a patient stance. The striker’s agent, Pino, recently warned that they “cannot wait until the end of the season to learn the club’s intentions,” adding that they would “wait for a possible offer until December” before exploring alternative options.

Pino insisted that Icardi “has done his best for this magnificent club and its fans and deserves respect.”
However, these comments did not sit well with club leadership. President Dursun Özbek had already made Galatasaray’s position clear, noting, “Whether a contract is signed or not is not a matter for today. The club can decide at the end of the season.”

The dynamic dramatically shifted when Victor Osimhen exploded onto the scene. While Icardi was recovering from an ACL tear suffered in late 2024, the Nigerian superstar delivered a staggering 37 goals in 41 games while on loan.
Osimhen has maintained his red-hot form since signing permanently, netting six goals in nine matches already this season.
