Ranchers Bees have appointed Ma’aji Muhammad as their new head coach, the Kaduna club confirmed in a statement on X. He replaces Usman Abdallah, who had led the team since their return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Ranchers Bees announced the appointment of Ma’aji Muhammad on its X page on Wednesday afternoon.
“We are delighted to welcome 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐣𝐢 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 as the new manager of Ranchers Bees. Welcome to the Hive, Gaffer.”
Ma’aji arrives with experience from Niger Tornadoes, where he previously worked, and he takes charge of a side that badly needs a change in fortunes. The club did not disclose the length of his contract in its announcement.
The Bees have struggled since their top-flight return. They have won two, drawn two and lost five of their nine league matches this season, a record that has left the club under pressure.
That pressure spilled onto the streets on October 12, when fans protested and called for Abdallah’s dismissal after a series of poor results. The demonstration made clear how little patience supporters had left with the team’s form.
Ranchers Bees earned promotion to the NPFL this season, ending a long wait to return to the top tier.
Ma’aji now faces the task of turning a promising squad into a winning one and steering the Bees away from the relegation battle.
