Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has downplayed the heated exchange between Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo following their Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen.
Hojlund scored a crucial brace in the 2-1 comeback victory but was visibly frustrated with Diallo for not providing a cross that could have led to a hat-trick.
When asked about the incident, Amorim played it down, saying:
“In this moment, we need to feel something, if we need to fight each other it’s like a family, for me it’s a very, very good sign. We need to feel something and that is important.”
Amorim emphasized that the exchange showed his players cared deeply about the game.
“That is clear (that they care). When you don’t care, you don’t do anything. When you care, you fight with your brother, father, and mother.”
The Portuguese manager concluded by saying that such incidents are a normal part of the game.
“It’s a normal thing, it’s a positive thing, a healthy thing. So I let the players and the captain calm down.”
