Liverpool manager Arne Slot has made a bold claim, declaring Mohamed Salah the best player in the world right now.
Slot’s praise comes after Salah’s incredible performance against West Ham, with the Egyptian winger now leading the Premier League in both goals and assists.
Salah, 32, has been in scintillating form, scoring 17 goals and providing 13 assists for Liverpool. His impressive display continued on Sunday, as he scored and set up two goals in Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of West Ham United.
Speaking after the game, Slot couldn’t help but sing Salah’s praises.
“We didn’t know Mohamed Salah could get any better… but somehow he has,” Slot said.
“Best player in the world? If you look at his numbers you can’t argue with it.”
With Salah’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Liverpool fans will be hoping that the club can secure his services for years to come.
