Stade Malien hit their first win of the CAF Champions League campaign on Sunday evening.
The Malian side secured a 2-1 win over Tanzania’s Simba in Bamako.
Taddeus Nkeng and Ismaila Simpara scored innthe first half to give the the Malian champions a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time.
South African midfielder Neo Maema halved the deficit in the 54th minute to the vistors a comeback chance.
However, Stade Malien protected their Slim lead as the tie ended 2-1.
Meanwhile, Al-Hilal picked a vital point away at Eloi Lupopo.
Abdelrazig Omer gave the visitors the lead in the 12th minute to put the host under pressure.
Al-Hilal led until the 79th minute when Ramos Kashala restored parity for the debutants.
The tie ended 1-1 as Eloi Lupopo picked their first point of the competition after losing 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns last week.
