Captain of the home-based Super Eagles team, Nduka Junior, has sealed a move to Iraqi Stars League side, Erbil Football Club.
The 22-year-old Remo Stars captain joins the Iraqi side after leading the club to its first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League title last season.
He also captained Nigeria, the “CHAN Eagles” to the ongoing African Nations Champions in Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
Junior featured in all the games as Nigeria crashed out of the competition in the group stage with a win and two losses.
Nduka Junior joins Erbil on a three-year deal until 2028, becoming the sixth top player to leave Remo Stars this season.
Seun Ogunribide, Franck Mawuena, Kayode Bankole (GK), Sikiru Alimi, and Fabian Nworie left the club at the end of the season.
Erbil finished 12th on the log with 50 points from 38 matches last season, and the arrival of Nduka Junior is expected to strengthen the club’s defense ahead of the new season.
