Super Eagles icon Victor Moses joins Luton Town on free transfer

Luton Town have snapped up former Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a free transfer. The 33-year-old former Nigeria international has joined the Championship outfit after leaving Russian side Spartak Moscow earlier this summer.

Moses boasts a wealth of experience, having spent nearly four years with Spartak, initially joining on loan from Chelsea in 2020. He began his professional career with Crystal Palace before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2010 when they were still in the Premier League.

Luton boss Rob Edwards is chuffed with Moses’ arrival, saying, “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.” Moses had already turned out for Luton in a behind-closed-doors match last week, showing what he can do.

The signing comes at a crucial time for Luton, who have had a tough start to the season with just one point from four Championship games, following their relegation from the Premier League in May.

Edwards will be hoping Moses’ arrival can help turn things around, starting with their trip to Millwall on Saturday – their first game back after the international break.

The length of Moses’ contract remains under wraps, but his experience and know-how should be a big boost for Luton as they look to climb the Championship table.
