Wolves fines Arokodare following fight with Mane

Wolverhampton Wanderers has slammed forward Tolu Arokodare with a fine after he reportedly clashed with teammate Mateus Mane in the dressing room following the team’s defeat to West Ham United.

The incident occurred straight after Wolves’ 4-0 loss at the London Stadium—a result that ramped up pressure on the squad during a tough run of form.

English journalist Nathan Judah reported that tensions inside the dressing room flared quickly between the two players, both of whom have African roots. Arokodare represents Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the international level, while Mane has Guinean-Bissauan heritage.

Judah revealed that a verbal exchange between the pair quickly turned into a serious confrontation that became physical. He stated that Arokodare acted as the sole aggressor in the incident.

The Midlands club reportedly conducted an internal review and then decided to impose a financial sanction on the player.

Arokodare was dropped from the starting line-up and was an unused substitute in Wolves’ 3-0 defeat away at Leeds United over the weekend.

His absence from the pitch has further fuelled speculation about his current standing in the team and his role under the coaching staff.

The Super Eagles forward joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk after a strong spell in the Belgian Pro League, where he built a reputation as a powerful and physically dominant striker.

Arokodare’s performances in Belgium at Genk drew interest from several European clubs before he secured his move to the Premier League.

Unfortunately, he has struggled to adapt to English football, contributing limited goals and receiving inconsistent game time in a struggling Wolves side.

With Wolves bound to be relegated this season and his struggles to impress since his arrival, Tolu Arokodare might be on his way out of the club at the end of the season.
