Ikorodu City extend unbeaten run as Oriental Derby ends in a stalemate

Ikorodu City extended their unbeaten in the Nigeria Premier Football League to four matches as they bagged a point away at Niger Tornadoes.

The “Oga Boys” avioded defeat as they played a goalless draw at Niger Tornadoes.

Even though the match ended goalless, it was quite an exciting affair as both teams created chances to score.

Ikorodu City goalkeeper, Faith James was unarguably the best player on the pitch as he made a good number of saves to deny the home side on multiple occasions.

Niger Tornadoes’ Papa Daniel came close to giving the home side the lead on the 71st minute grom a well taken strike but was once again denied bu Faith Daniel.

Eventually, the match ended goalless as both sides settled for a draw.

The first installment of the oriental derby between Heartland and Enugu Rangers ended in a draw.

The Dan Anyam Stadium in Owerri witnessed a sizeable amount of crowd as the home side welcomed the reigning champions.

The derby was quite cagey as both sides battled hard to gain control of the match.

The home side came close to taking the lead on two occasions but were denied by the brilliant Lucky Abdullahi.

The Oriental Derby ended goalless as Emmanuel Amunike’s Heartland remain unbeaten in five games.

While the champions are unbeaten in six matches, Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side have only recorded 2 wins in their last 8 matches.

In other results, Kano Pillars played a two-all draw at Lobi Stars. Bendel Insurance thrash Kwara United 3-1 while El Kanemi Warriors beat Akwa United 1-0.
