Nigerian athletes will not participate in the 2025 International Table Tennis World Youth Championship in Romania.
According to the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Romania didn’t grant the Nigerian athletes visas to participate in the championship despite qualifying.
Led by Kuti Matthew, the reigning West African champion, Nigeria qualified for the tournament after winning the U15 and U19 boys’ team categories at the 2025 ITTF-Africa Youth Championships in Lagos.
Following the visa denial, Tunisia and Egypt will replace Nigeria at the event scheduled to be held between November 20-30.
