Nottingham Forest and Nigeria defender, Ola Aina has confirmed that he has undergone a successful surgery following an injury he sustained during the recent international break.
The 27-year-old full-back picked up the setback while on duty with the Super Eagles and was subsequently ruled out of action for both club and country.
After undergoing medical examinations, Aina was advised to proceed with surgery, which he announced had been completed successfully on Tuesday.
In a brief statement shared on his official social media handles, Aina expressed gratitude for the support he has received during his recovery process. He reassured fans that the procedure went well and that he is focused on returning to full fitness as soon as possible.

“Surgery went really well and recovery is going smoothly. A massive thank you to the club, my teammates, and all the fans for the incredible support over the past few days. It’s meant a lot.” the former Chelsea academy graduate wrote.
Aina, who has been a key figure for Nottingham Forest since joining in 2023, will now embark on a rehabilitation program under the supervision of medical staff.
His absence is expected to be felt both at club level, where Forest are currently undergoing a transition after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo with Ange Postecoglou replacing him, and for Nigeria as preparations continue for upcoming fixtures.
