WCQ: Nwabali faces heavy criticism after error against Lesotho

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is facing strong backlash from Nigerian fans after his costly error in the 2-1 win against Lesotho.

The victory was critical, but Nwabali’s mistake, spilling an easy catch to gift Hlompho Kalake a goal, has created major anxiety. In a group this tight, every conceded goal matters.

Nwabali is actually a mad man. He has done everything in his power in an attempt to make us lose this game.

The Goal Difference Crisis

The race for the single World Cup ticket from Group C is a three-way fight. Nigeria sits on 14 points, just behind joint-leaders Benin (15 points) and South Africa (15 points).

Fans quickly took to social media to voice their frustration, emphasizing that fundamental mistakes cannot happen with the World Cup spot on the line. The pressure on the entire Super Eagles squad ahead of the winner-takes-all clash is immense.
