Nigeria’s Super Falcons will no longer face Ghana’s Black Queens in their scheduled international friendly ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed on Friday that the match, which was set to take place on Saturday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco, has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
The announcement was made via the Super Falcons’ official X account, with no further details provided regarding the reason for the cancellation.
The fixture had been arranged as part of both teams’ final preparations for the 2026 WAFCON, which kicks off later this month in Morocco.
The Super Falcons have been camping in Casablanca since Monday as they intensify preparations for the continental tournament.
Head coach Justine Madugu’s side will now turn their full attention to their opening Group B fixture against Malawi’s Scorchers at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat, where the nine-time African champions will begin the defence of their WAFCON title.
