Ademola Lookman has reacted to the brief exchange of words between him and Victor Osimhen in Super Eagles win over Mozambique.
The two forwards had a short altercation in the second half of the match before Osimhen reportedly asked to be substituted.
Osimhen, from the video replay was disappointed the Atalanta forward held on the ball for two long instead of releasing a pass to him.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman provided the assist to Osimhen’s goal in the 4-0 win as Nigeria advance into the quarter-finals.
In a post match reaction, Lookman who bagged the MVP award says he’s yet to see or speak with Osimhen after the final whistle.
However, he went on to praise Osimhen clarifying that there’s no cause for alarm between them.
“I have not seen Osimhen but I don’t think that matters, Vic is our number one guy, everybody knows this, he’s a top striker. So, all of that doesn’t matter.”
Osimhen walked stright into the dressing room after the blast of the final whistle raising questions yet again on his behaviour and disciplinary issues.
Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen have 11 goal contributions for the Super Eagles so far in the competition.
