Tolu Arokodare scored his first Premier League goal 48-hours after he was dropped from Eric Chelle’s team for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Eric Chelle named his 28-man list for the competition on Thursday afternoon without the 6 ft 9 inches striker who scored on his debut for the team against Russia.
However, the striker made a statement as he came off the bench to score in the unfortunate loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday night.
Arolodare powered in a header late in the tie to restore parity after a sustained period of pressure on Arsenal’s defense.
Unfortunately, Arokodare’s goal could not secure a point for Wolverhampton Wanderers as they fell to their fourteenth defeat of the season.
Two own goals from Sam Johnstone and Yerson Mosquera in added time of the 90 saved the Gunners from their bushes.
