Manchester City took the lead just bedre3the break courtesy of a ferocious left-footed strike from Tijjani Reijnders.
The home side dominated the first half as Chelsea struggled to get out of their half leading up to the opening goal.
Erling Haaland had came close to giving Manchester City the lead but his attempt on goal to the far corner came of the woodwork.
The introduction of Liam Delap by Chelsea’s interim manager, Calum Mcfarlane gave the Blues potency up front after Joao Pedro struggled to make impact.
Delap almost made an instant as he forced a save of Gianluigi Donnarumma a few minutes after coming on to the pitch.
The home side had chances to seal the game off before Chelsea’s late equalizer but were lacklustre in front of goal.
The result leaves City six points behind Arsenal and are now equal on points with Aston Villa but with a better goal difference.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are in fifth place with 31 points while Manchester United are in sixth with the same points.
